sequins and pumps

Countdown to the Countdown
{go to Countdown to the Countdown on Polyvore}

Are you ready for the new year? It has been hard trying to find something to wear that will be appropriate around my boyfriends family and still in the spirit of the new year (tons of glitter and sky high heels). I have come to option three (above) with tights and a blazer. But when all else fails I have glitter nails (above)! I got glitter nail applications from Dots clothing store for about $3, and they were extremely hard to work with. I had to go over them with top coat a few times before they finally set without pealing (they are peeling again, only day 2).

I have thrown together a few of my favorite looks for New Years. Starting with option number three, pairing a sparkle top and plain black skirt or vice versa with some glittery pumps is the most affordable option. You can use one of the plain black tops or skirts you have and pair it with a cheap sequin skirt or top that you can find at almost any store right now (P.S. If you know your new years celebration venue will be chilly, pair your outfit with a blazer). In option number two I wanted to bring in color. Stand out (in a good way) at your celebration with a pink asymmetrical or sequins dress, almost any heels, and chunky jewelry that will turn heads. Last but not least option number one which is the all time new years favorite, LBD. You can never really go wrong with a simple black dress, but stand out from the others in black with some eye-catching heels like the ones above. You could even pair a fur vest like the one {here} with your dress. Hope your new years is fabulous like you lovelies!
